We see ourselves as custodians of the land, although strictly speaking we 'own' it.  It's important to us to farm in a way that is in harmony with nature, carbon negative, and zero waste.    

Organic

We are certified by the Soil Association - providing assurance that we are looking after the soil, not using artificial fertilisers or herbicides, providing habitat for wildlife, and high animal welfare. 

Carbon negative

We are 110 tonnes Carbon Negative per annum.  This comes from:

• Organic rotation: 40 tonnes
  
• Woodland growth: 30 tonnes
• Wind turbine: 20 tonnes
• Hedgerows: 8 tonnes
• Electric vehicle: 5 tonnes

zero waste

We prevent waste by:

• carefully planning production to match our sales
• piggies eat any veg waste
• composting what pigs can't eat
• using reusable packaging
• taking any surplus to a Foodbank
